Shift Your Perspective: Be Grateful

Gratitude is a powerful tool to connect with the present, remember what truly matters, and open up new ways of seeing your life.
It’s not always easy. Sometimes we’re so focused on what’s missing that we forget everything that’s already here.
But when we learn to appreciate even the most basic things, like breathing, life takes on new depth.

Gratitude as a daily practice

Recently, I started being more consciously grateful.
I bought some small stickers that say “thank you” and placed them on my computer and phone.
Not for aesthetics. Out of need.

Because, like many people, I sometimes struggle to acknowledge what I already have. I get caught in the desire for more, the sense that nothing is enough.

But every time I give thanks, I return to a very simple truth:
I am alive. I am breathing. I am here.

Health: invisible until it breaks

Having health may seem like little… until we lose it.
And at that point, everything else —money, success, achievements— becomes irrelevant.

Gratitude for your health is a way to honor what sustains your life silently.
A way to get off autopilot and restore awareness.

Gratitude shifts how you see

When you give thanks, you don’t change what happens.
You change how you see it.

You see more options, more nuance.
And with greater perspective, there is greater freedom to choose consciously.
Because if you only see one path, you’re not choosing — you’re reacting.

How often are you truly free?

Freedom isn’t only external.
It’s also internal:

freedom from self-demand
freedom from anxiety
freedom from past ghosts or future promises

When you feel stuck in those inner loops, try stopping.
Try breathing. Try being grateful, even if just for the breath you’re taking.
That small gesture can bring you back to yourself.

A therapy to reconnect with what truly matters

In Gestalt Therapy, we work with this too:
With how you live, not just what you do.
With the power of a pause, a fresh outlook, a sincere sense of gratitude.
Not to deny discomfort, but to put it in perspective.

If you want to develop your potential from a freer, more grounded and present space, this process may be for you.

Do you want to keep exploring?

If this topic resonates with you, you might be interested in opening up space to talk about it in a session. Each process is unique, and it can be helpful to pause, reflect, and put words to what you’re experiencing.
